About Us
Lakeview Rod & Custom was founded with a simple philosophy: build exceptional vehicles without compromising on quality. Every project that enters our shop is treated with the same attention to detail, whether it's a complete concours-level restoration, a custom hot rod, a modern performance build, or a one-of-a-kind fabrication project.
Our team combines traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques to deliver vehicles that are built to be driven, admired, and enjoyed for generations. From hand-fabricated sheet metal and precision bodywork to paint, wiring, assembly, suspension, drivetrain integration, and final tuning, we take pride in every stage of the build.

Meet the Owners
Preston Johnston
Owner — Metal Fabrication & Assembly
Preston oversees the metal fabrication and assembly departments at Lakeview Rod & Custom. A Red Seal Welder and experienced metal fabricator, he specializes in custom metalwork, structural repairs, chassis modifications, and final vehicle assembly, ensuring every project is built with quality, precision, and attention to detail.
Tobin Fitzl
Owner — Body & Paint
Tobin leads our body and paint department and is a Red Seal Automotive Collision and Refinishing Technician. An award-winning automotive painter since his late teens, he has earned a reputation for producing exceptional paint and bodywork. In addition to his refinishing expertise, Tobin is an accomplished fabricator and custom motorcycle builder, bringing a broad range of craftsmanship and experience to every project.
Ali Johnston
Owner — Administration & Finance
Ali manages the administrative side of Lakeview Rod & Custom, keeping projects organized and ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. She looks after invoicing, deposits, payments, and customer accounts, and is your primary point of contact for any questions related to the financial side of your project.

Glenn brings a wide range of skills to the shop floor — wherever he's needed, he delivers. From fabrication and assembly to general shop work, Glenn keeps things moving and gets the job done right.
Colt Jackson
Apprentice
Colt is learning the trade from the ground up at Lakeview Rod & Custom. He brings enthusiasm and a strong work ethic to every task, and is developing his skills across fabrication, bodywork, and general shop operations.
